Trotting in South Africa
Trotting South Africa is dedicated to Trotting, the Standardbred, and the competition and sportsmanship of the non-gallop gaits.
Harness Racing, or Trotting, is an equine sport which on a combined and collective global basis is as large worldwide as conventional flat horse racing. It has huge public appeal in Europe, North America, and Australasia. Utilising the Standardbred horse, or “trotter” (as they are called in Europe), a light weight sulky of ±20Kgs and driver, racing takes place on oval sand tracks over a distance of 1 mile (1600m). |
